I have Thursday off and I am going out to get me a chromer I am thinking the clackmas maybe barton or carver area. Or should I head on down to oxbow and fish the sandy I was even thinking of walking back into the pipeline hole. so what do you all would feel is the best and if anyone is interested in going along just let me know there is always room on the bank for more plan on going out at first light and staying till I tire out. If the East winds are blowing i might drive up to one of the coast rivers but don't know the first place to fish up there. well wish me luck

Ryan,

There are lots of fish in all the rivers now. Take your pick. If I were a person with limited amount of days to fish I'd go to the river I know best.

There are fish in the Clack and Sandy. Sounds like some down near Oxbow a few days ago but they may have moved up stream. When I used to bank the Sandy I only fished Pipeline when the river was about two feet higher than it is now. If you go there there you might find some good water farther down stream but the Pipe is probably a little low.

The Clack has fish too. To fish it from the bank I'd suggest going as high as you could (McIver, River Mill) as the river will be smaller and that way the fish don't have as much room to spread out.

There are still lots of fish in the Oxbow area of the Sandy. I saw several caught this AM and have seen lots of fish the last several days. The best success has come for those using small presentations. Small corkies & yarn with or without 3 1/2" pink worms, Jensen eggs or small baits drifted through tailouts will produce fish. Over four miles of bank access in the Park. The pressure has lessened since New Years weekend crowd. Wind today has been mostly calm. River came up a little with the rain and took on just a little bit of color.
Plenty of fihers are taking fish home. The best year on the Sandy I've seen in at least ten years.
Mostly hatchery fish. Just a sprinkling of wild. Probably ten to one hathery to wild.
