The Alsea has some fish in the hatchery ,a fair number ,but not much going on as far as hookin up. I was there on Monday and got a nice 12 lb. buck, however there was several other fish caught the fish to boat ratio was low. I fished from Mill cr. to ???? cant remember right now. Anyway is there any reports from downstream?

What boat were you in? I didnt float on monday, I banked it. As I was in one hole nt too far below Mill Creek I had a couple boats go by.
It seems that most of the fish had pushed on up above Mill Creek. Between two of us fishing we stuck hooks in 8 fish. My hook to land ratio was in the toilet that day, I went 0 for 5  My roomate finally ended up landing 1 fish. I did see some guys packing fish around.
Oh yeah, All but one fish was hooked on eggs. Red Pro Glow cured silver eggs to be exact. That was about the only thing we could get them to take. The odd ball fish nipped a sandshrimp on my first cast of the morning......
I think the fish got hammered on so hard over the weekend the bite just shut down.

Fished the 28th - 30th from Mill to Campbell and landed 2-3 fish each trip. Four of the fish were landed on plugs and another four fish on c/y. All but two were nice bright hens.
Probably my last trip on the Alsea due to my full time job starting date being tommorrow. Back to the land of the Umpqua and "weekend warrior" status for me!
