CATCH AND EAT

Got my first winter brat today on the Clackamas. This bad boy buck weighed in at 14.6 pound on my Berkley digital scale (Christmas gift). Chrome bright and loaded for bear. What a great way to start the New Year off!!!

Miserable weather and the river is rising. It was our only fish of the short day. Was fishing with Pops who was blanked again. :depressed: Quit at 12:00 to head home and watch the Ducks kick butt!!!!

Saw Spooled out there today. His Boat had to show me where the fish were. We ran up after his passenger Flubby Stucker boated a beauty. Thought maybe the Mr. would be about where the Mrs. was. Sure enough he was there. He now resides on film and in my freezer. Yummy time is a commin soon!

Thanks for the tips Spooled. You are a learned Steelhead scholar! Appreciate the help. Oh yeah, I still owe you $12.00 for the Ammerman Eggs. They do work well.

Sorry if you think I spilled the beans Spooled. Surely there is no secret about our method. Is there? Did'nt mean to step on your toes.

Congrats Bernie on your fish (I thought you won the lottery from the shrieks I heard).

Fubby is right, I thought a boat load of girls was behind us, and Donnie Osmond just went by , judging by all the screaming going on back there. Man you need to get into a few more fish, so you don't sound so silly when you FINALLY get one.

We couldn't believe you didn't let Carl haul that one in. No hand offs in your boat I guess.

Looks like the Spooled boat is ready for Flotilla 3.5

C & E, Nice start for the new year. It's ok to yell a little, I did it today on the Lewis. First two fish of the year. Now. when we catch a fish, there are those out there that say we should act like we have done this before and it's not a big deal. Na, we don't have to do it their way, let everyone know within the distance of your voice. That way they all know exactly where you hooked that fish, and that secert spot is no longer a secert.
Fire up the BBQ and go do it again and again.

Donny Osmund? Boat load of girls? Need to catch more fish? (ok on the catch more fish thingy). So Spooled did you guys get any more fish or did Flubby Stucker find himself as the only real fisherman in your boat?

Hey Flubby, congrats on your new addition to the freezer. I just needed to see how it was done. Thanks for showing me where that big dude was. A great way to start the new year with a big ol' steelhead.

Troy who was the other dude with you?
