Fished the Goble area Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening. Got 50 shakers in 2 1/2 days and was encouraged by the size of the fish at Trojan Hole. We had a number of near keepers - 37-39 inches. Only two from Trojan Hole were under 30.
We finally put a 44 into the boat. It was a friend's first sturgeon and she is hooked on 'em now!
We lost a monster too. We never saw him but he put a powerful bend in a stout rod and took a bunch of line before snapping the 80 pound test. I think I will now convert to that recommended knot for braided line rather than the double clinch knot I've been using. The line snapped right in the middle of the knot.
Go get em boys but leave a couple for me!
