Happy New Year Everyone. I'm looking for advise on the best way to cook live lobster? Heard if you don't put them in head first the meat will not be as good.

May 2002 be filled with big & brite chromers for us all.

Thanks in advance for your help.

fishnlady: having come from maine and new hampshire.i have never heard that one. but head first would put them out of their misery guicker and thus maybe better eating. any way we always just put in boiling water and i dont remember ever being particular which end was first. always tasted greatto me. it is really not a hard thing to cook. good luck

Maine will spoil ya, don't think I've eaten a lobster since I visited there.

You can get a lobster at the gas station - fill 'er up, and gimme a couple of them lobsters - with fries! And they cost like 6 bucks!

I went out bottom fishing on a lobster boat, which was interesting. I think the lobster industry is not too lucrative, so this guy had sort of converted to a charter-fishing thing - but they pulled their pots during the trip, everyone had a number & if your pot had a lobbie - you got to keep it. We did lousy! Fishing wasn't that great either! (July)

Got to see one HUGE female with eggs on - they have to clip the tail and release it. And you can't keep a clipped one, (reproductive female). The clip remains after molting!

Well it was interesting for a West Coast guy ...
