:yeahthat:

Freeze in milk. When it comes time to eat, thaw and drain milk, don't rinse.

My wife found that making crab cakes from left over crab will vacuum pack and freeze great. I can't say the same for just crab, its not bad but the cakes are supper.

I just opened a package for crab stuffed mushrooms and found it to be great. It has been frozen for two months.

I've heard that you should put the crab in a container and then vacuum pack the whole thing. Keeps the juices from being sucked out. I'll have to give the milk thing a try.

I did not see any excess liquid from the packaging. When I packaged the crab, I set the setting on the low suction setting.
When I pulled the package from the freezer I always cut a slit at the top of the package to stop liquids from being sucked out as the contents thaw.
The unit I use is the mv-31.

I've tried freezing it in milk and have been happy with the results.
