Well I told myself I would drive this rig till the 2010 models came out, so out looking at upgrading. Looking for a decent mile 2007 or 2008 if I can afford it.
At this point, subject to replacing it I am looking to sell my 2000 Tahoe. I bought it new so, one owner.
2000 Tahoe LT Z71, great rig. I am buying a newer Tahoe. I bought this from Wentworth in 2001, it had 6K miles on it, the service manager had been driving it. Regular service and oil changes every 2500 - 3000 miles. At 85000 with the car loaned to my Daughter and she was on the way back from Pendelton the engine started knocking and ended up being replaced. Chevrolet has a known defect with the head gasket between cylinder 7 & 8 where water will leak and cause engine to overheat. Do an internet search and you will see it is a known defect. My local mechanic recommended a company in Seattle for a new motor so I put a bran new longblock in the Tahoe. Also new radiator core. Still regular oil changes 2500 -3000 and tranny service about every 50K or so. Fule pump has been replaced with new factory fuel pump assembly. Now has 141,000 miles on it. I have service and oil change receipts for everything. Last year, new front slotted rotors and pads, my second set as I love the way the slotted rotors work. Probably 30% better stopping power. Also replaced a few front end parts, idler arm and tie rod ends and an alignment at the same time. Les Schwab did the work and I have receipts.
No picture at this time, but it is Forest Green. Have the Z71 grill guard if you want it. Never been wercked or even a ding. I am anal about where I park so probably only 1 or 2 minor door dings. Paint looks real good. All the normal equipement, leather, power everything, CD & cassett, premiun sound, rear a/c, tow pcakage is standard on the Z71, drivers side heated leather seat does not heat, I hardly used it and 2 yrs ago when it went out I just did not bother fixing it. About a $400 - $500 fix. Have husky liners for the front and the cargo areaas well as the factory mats that have never been used. No hard off road use, I fish so some gravel roads and it has towed a drift boat and my sled, no extreem 4X4 stuff. Has 2WD setting, Auto 4WD, Full time 4WD as well as low range 4WD settings. Has the interior overhead storage console for sunglasses (very handy) some CD's, interior lights and programmable 3 button home link to open garage doors built in. Nice feature. Also has roof luggage rack. The rear doors are not the hatchback style, they open side to side so much easier to get stuff in and out and can release to open a full 180 degrees for the really widt things, another nice feature. Have the grey smoke plastic bug shield on the hood and grey smoke plastic window shields on all 4 windows. 3 12 power ports on the dash and 1 in the cargo area. Full size spare tire. Factory fog lights and I have made minor modification to the light socket, bent clip out of the way so I could install more powerful light bulbs that the stock factory ones. Factory switch on the dash for the fog lights. Also have some aftemarket fog lights installed on the hitch frame and wired into the back up lights for more light when backing up in the dark. Factory back tube style running boards ( Std on the Z71 package) Paint is in good shape. Had issue with the rear cargo doors leaking a little water at one point, my mechanic said he fixed it and so far so good. Fuel pump replaced just before the new engine and battery is good.
This has been a great rig, I took good care of it and had regular service performed as I knew I would be driving this rig till the 2010 models came out. I have found a nice 2008 with low miles that I will probably buy and drive for another 8 - 10 years. My old Tahoe has many good miles left on it and will make a good vehicle for some new owner. It's been well cared for.
I also have a set, qty 4 factory alloy wheels with Blizzak ice/snow tires on them, about 75% rubber that can be included for a few hundred bucks more. Otherwise I think I can sell them for $400.
Car is parked in Hillsboro at night and at my work by the Zoo days. Call Steve, 503.972.2710 or 503.939.9437 for more info. Compared to the other 2000 +/- Tahoe's, this one has a newer engine with only 65K miles, oil and service receipts and 4 snow/ice tires.
I have found a replacement rig at a good price so this one needs to go so it is priced to move.
Have most receipts to prove regular oil changes.
Figure the extra set of wheels and tires are worth about $400 - $500
Kelly says with 140K trade in is $4700 and at 85K miles $5800, so figure the newer engine is another $500.
Private party sale at 140K is $6800 and Retail is $9000.
Trade calculates to $5700 and Private party is $7800, I would like to get $6500.
New price as I think I found a new rig, $5500 Lets make a deal
Below is the heading for a Tahoe that is just like my vehicle listed on Craigs list with 130K miles for $6995, mine has 65K miles on new engine and 4 extra tires and rims for $500 less, so price is decent.
2000 Chevrolet Tahoe Sport Utility 4/4, Z71 Edition! Free Carfax - $6995
$50 donation to IFish if it sells on here at the new price of $5500.
