1.99 a pound. Pretty good!
Try this!
Put it in your crock pot in the morning. Darned if I didn't wait till noon but it was the best I EVER made! :)
Anyhow, all you do is put a slosh of soy sauce or tamari in there. (About 1/3 cup or so. Add a can of cream of mushroom soup. Add a half pack or so of onion soup mix.
You know... this is home food. Comfort food. It's NOT health food! LOL
Then, cook it on high for five hours like I did. It falls apart so nicely!
I served it with fresh cabbage cut in wedges, cooked in a can of chicken broth, some cayenne and some pickling spice. (Just put it in a cast iron dutch over and set it to boil and steam for a bit. YUM)
I served it also with mashed potatoes and guess what else?
I picked fresh blueberries (in OCTOBER!) and made corn muffins with blueberries. I do say that has been the best thing I ever thought of! I use that Marie Callender's mix and add fresh or frozen bluebs. YUM
Oh yeah! Take the roast out, and add about a half cup flour mixed with water to thicken the sauce in the pot. Put it back to boil and thicken and there is your gravy.
FATTENING... but oh so good!
