View Full Version : Trimming the stockings in my stocking foot waders
Okay, so I've got little feet...size 8 on a good day.
The stocking feet in my waders have got to be a size 14. Is there anyplace that can trim them down and seal them back up for me?

HEY! I resemble that remark! :)
I've answered my own question...
KME Drysuits out of Auburn, Washington will replace the boots for $111 plus shipping and handling.

if youre about to spend that much just to resize the feet in your waders i'd call the wader company themselves first... there are definitely some that will do that for cheaper..
i'm not a huge fan of simms but i have to believe they'd do this for you for less
The waders I have are Cabelas brand; I tried on the Simms and others and these seemed to fit best around the waist. I called Cabelas and they wouldn't do anything for me.

Try a local scuba place. They might be able to do something. Might not be pretty, but could be cheaper and work just fine.
Or not
I called about 4-5 of the local scuba stores and none of them did modifications. The last one I called referred me to KME. I'd rather get it done locally, so if there is anyone that does it locally please let me know. KME does offer a lifetime guarantee on their work.

ok i got curious and called simms up after looking at their website...
they have their own custom stockingfoot program where they'll do this to any of THEIR waders for $50... apparently its pretty easy for them to swap out the whole neoprene foot for a bigger/smaller one on THEIR waders because of how the bootie attaches..
bummer is that they won't touch anything from other companies...
so it sounds like what you found may be the best option for you - especially if they're relatively local and will stand behind the work.... even if it is a little mo' money

Thanks for posting that info, after reading this thread I was thinking of calling Simms and asking if they could do anything. Now I just have to find out how long it takes for Simms to fix the problem.

We use ours for tubing only but what we recently did & it worked pretty good was to for me I went to a size 13 boot from a 9 & added 3 more socks & she took my old size 9 boots to replace her 5's. Much more comfortable now though we don't walk too far so I'm not sure how it would work for bank fishing or wading use.:twocents:
