Cliff Bars, homemade GORP(peanuts, raisins, craisins, sunflower seeds and chocolate chips), dried fruit, water and gatorade packets, jerky, mountain house.
This is all stuff that I also carry in my Bug Out Bag.....it isn't gormet, but it gets you through.

If you have a small stove with you, when I backpack I like to bring dry noodles, packets of tuna, small amt of butter and Parmesan cheese. Cheap, light, hot and filling. Hit it with some seasoning, and its a good meal for the trail when traveling light.

I really like those Ore-Ida instant massed potatoes (winco, .88 cents) that are flavored. Just add hot woter and it doesn't have to be very hot. So there's one item....:twocents:plan on doing a lot of backpacking with my gun on the hunt this year, any ideas for simple, packable meals? or just simple camp food in general?
