I just finally picked up fly fishing over the summer and really like it. If there's anyone who has any pointers, advice, or any other helpful ideas that would help out a newbie I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Jordan

I recommend three things that helped me:
1. Read: There are a lot of good books out there. Read books that relate to western fishing and hatches. A very good basic primer is the Curtis Creek Manifesto by Sheridan Anderson
2. Join a fly fishing club and make friends
3. Get out on the water and practice what you're learing
Have fun!

The hardest thing for me is of course knowing what fly to use. I really enjoy watching the dry fly float along, but a small bead head seems to get the most fishies. I just stick to that and have fun casting. If you want to really catch fish, worm and bobber!:applause:
