I just returned this past week from another Alaskan adventure. My friends David and Sheri invited me to join them and their two boys to Prince of Whales Island and the Salmon Shores cabins.
We started out getting our supply of R&B spinners ready for the next day when the bad news arrived. So much rain that the rivers were real high. One of the biggest problems with fishing-you can’t control the weather.
We made the best of it we could and traveled around the island on the hunt for a pack of willing fish. We never found a lot, just fish here and there. We caught coho and pink salmon and cutthroat and dollies.

Double!
We only saw a few bears.

This young bear was fishing in the closed waters of the islands hatchery weir.
At least the scenery was outstanding!

There’s nothing like fishing Alaska!
