Does anyone have an opinion on this vise? Also how big of a hook will it hold? I plan on tying some 5/0 flies for Chinook. Thanks for your help!

A great vise for the price. I have had mine for 5+ years with no problems.

I've got that vise.
The jaws are adjustable over a pretty wide range.
Just for the heck of it I tried a 4/0 Mustad salmon bait hook in it a minute ago. No problem; it held it fine and still had room to adjust for bigger hooks.
I don't think you'll have a problem with the hooks you're planning to use.

I have had to replace the cam three times over the last decade using my Renzetti Traveler. I still use it, but primarily use it as a backup now. I generally tie steelhead flies and have worn through the grooves to the point that the flies pop out with just a little added pressure. If you plan on tying trout flies and do not plan on tying hundreds a year then you should be fine. If you plan on tying lots of salmon and steelhead flies then I would look at a different vise.

I use one of the original Renzetti Travelers, so it is pre-cam. I've been using it extensively since they first became available, getting close to 20 years ago, I believe. I've had no problems with it at all in terms of holding, or anything else for that matter. The only hook I could not get to hold in it was a heavy duty 5/0 salmon hook for some massive flies I was tying for a local doc. For that I went to my wife's Regal knock-off. And with the same Renzetti jaws I've held #26 hooks...ugh...

5/0 hooks should be ok for the 220 traveller. Best vise & the only vise I use now.:excited:
