I doubt if any ifish readers need to be reminded, but Brown's Creek(Wickiup) is always closed to fishing. A couple of hours ago, I was driving down the cinder road that crosses Brown's Creek and pulled over to check the spawning kokanee. There was a guy fishing below the culverts. I would have told him that he was fishing a closed stream, but I hadn't checked to make sure that the regs hadn't changed. There used to be notices posted at that spot.
Anyway, there are already thousands of kokes in the stream, and it is quite interesting to quietly observe their activity if you happen to be in the area.
By the way, the good boat ramp at Davis Lake(closed every year until Sept. 1) is in good shape and there is a decent amount of water for launch.
