I'm looking to buy a new kicker for my drift boat and was wondering if anybody had any advice or experience buying a new motor from a dealership. Do you know if they will haggle over price much like at a car dealership or if their sticker prices are usually pretty firm? Thanks for any input.

Give us something to work with. How big is your boat? How much transom do you have? That is how high is it? What make is your big motor? How much are you looking to spend?

They'll haggle.

Sorry if my post was a little misleading, I already know what motor I want, Just wanted to know if the dealers would negotiate their motor prices and if anybody had could share their experience with negotiating prices with a dealer and how much they were able to get them to bend, I'm looking at buying a 4 stroke 8 horse yamaha, manual tilt and start, thanks mooch.

There was a 2008 Suzuki in the classified section. Great motor and I believe he was asking like $1200. That's a steal. I have the same motor (except with ele start and tilt) and I love it. Heavier than the Yamaha, but a little quieter.
Most dealers will haggle over price, when I was looking for a new kicker I just emailed 4 or 5 dealers and asked what was the best they could do. I ended up finding a 3 mo old motor on here and saved about $1000.

Chris

Sometimes it works out better to haggle services than price.
If they won't do much on the price beat them down on some oil changes, tune ups or spare prop.
