View Full Version : '99 Evinrude 15 hp, fuel pump?

My brother just got a new to him boat, a 19 foot Olympic, it came with the 15 kicker but it has a problem staying running without pumping the bulb. Does this sound like a fuel pump issue? Maybe a carb kit? It's a '99 and he has no records of it maintenance history. Thanks for any input, Dean.
I'd check a couple of the easy things first:
1. Bad fuel line connector at the engine
2. Faulty check-valve in the bulb allowing fuel to drain back into the tank.
3. Partially plugged fuel filter.
Replace zip ties, with stainless clamps. :wink:

It appears GSD is the winner:applause:. Seems the fuel connector at the motor was bad. Thanks for the input everyone.
