View Full Version : My little girl Hannah

Hannah is 5 years old she is my last daughter and daddys little girl. She is currently at OHSU. Her 8 yr. old sister and her were shooting a compound bow. After some last minute safety instructions and demonstrations Dad turned his back. The arrow attender (Hannah) was instructed to stay behind the shooter. I was watching them for awhile and everything was fine. Then a bloody curdling scream was heard. Short version is, she was hit in the neck right side of throat about two inches deep. I had blood all over me. Life flight was brought in, landed in my field. We found out later the sheath covering the aeorta artery was punctured but the artery was not. Her bronchial tube, esophugus and thyroid were missed. Considering the size of a five year old neck, I would say God was with us. I wanted to publicly thank God for his mercy. He has a reason for every occurance no matter the outcome.

Sledder,
Prayers are being sent for all of you. This has to be hard on her Sis also.
I love your attitude! A lot of people would ask why God allowed this to happen.Instead of praising him for the way things turned out.
Your also right. He does have a reason for every occurance. No matter the outcome. And we may never know what that reason is.Its not our place to question it.But to accept it.I see you are doing that.
God Bless you all.

Praying for Hannah. We've had so many close calls ourselves. It looks like her guardian angel was looking out for her that it wasn't worse than it was.

Hannah's eviction notice from the hospital has been postponed another day due to fluid in the chest cavity. Just a minor setback. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers!!
