Hello All. The 2 stroke 2 cycle oil I have always used in my outboard is Castrol Super Outboard Full Synthetic 2 Cycle Oil. I used to by it at GI Joes. Now I cannot find it anywhere.
Does anyone know where you can buy this oil?
My experience is that Castrol makes very good products and this one seems to run very clean with low smoke. I have been pleased. Thus I want to stick with it. In the event it is discontinued and not available anymore, what synthetic oil do you use and where do you get it?

Thanks, and that was a good thought. But that lists Joes, Wallmart, K-Mart, Bi-Mart and I have tried all of those places. It also lists some auto parts stores, which I have not searched, but I also don't recall ever seeing this type of product there.
The Jantzen Beach Boaters World is also out of business.
Anybody?

You are on the right trail going with synthetics. I use synthetics exclusively and have a great running engine with low smoke. Yes, it costs more but my engine is worth that extra buck.
Castrol is east coast produced but remember the west coast... Valvoline, Havoline, Mobil, Chevron... to name a few. Finding synthetic 2 stroke is tough I admit. If you really want the top use Amsoil. It can be delivered to your door in gallon jugs. Visit amsoil.com or your local amsoil dealer.

I know it's not the answer your looking for, but I only run AmsOil. Delivered to my door runs about $25/gallon if i order 4 gallons, usually last me about 4 months. Low smoke.
One other option is the Mercury Permium Plus oil (its not the same as the quicksilver or Mercury Premium oil despite what people tell you). It's a Syn blend. You can buy it by the gallon (bring your own container) at Cascade Marine. I ran this for break in on my new engine (as required by engine builder) and it ran well. More smoke than the amsoil though.

Try Pennzoils full synthetic. In my 25hp and 50hp Yamahas,it smoked less than Amsoils synthetic.
Mercury and quicksilver are also good oils, but over-rated IMO. People seem to think that its the best oil on the market. I swear some think it'll cure cancer.:D
In the end,it really doesn't matter though. The oils on the market today are vastly superior to what we used to use. Todays cheap 2 stroke oil is better than the premiuim stuff from 20 years ago.
