Is it OK to use large green beans to make dilly beans?

You know, the ones in your garden that tend to be too tough for steaming or other cooking methods.

I'm planning on trying it, but if it's a waste of time I'll just save my vinegar and spices for the next batch.

I would use a quality green bean only. Don't waste the time and ingredients on an inferior finished product. :twocents:

I concur - I've tried it in the past with unhappy results.

Heres what I have found. If there tough to eat steamed they will be tough pickeled.
