Does a 20" transom = a 20" shaft on a outboard motor. I am a little confused over this it seems like it would but secound guessing myself. Have been looking for a good used motor to replace the bad one on my sled. I guess that you measure your transom and that is the shaft that you need on your motor right?
Thanks SL

As a former rigger, it's pretty straight forward. You want the "fin" on the lower unit to be as close (in alignment) with the lowest part of your hull, i.e. the water leaving the hull should be directed to the lower unit "fin" I hope this helps, if not drop me a line.
