Open Seats Part ll!
OK, since large threads are a real performance drain on ifish, we need to start a new Open Seats thread.
Please feel free to check for recent open seats in "Open Seats Part One (http://www.ifish.net/board/showthread.php?t=108534)" which is now closed. If you need a rider, you may very well find one listed, there.
Feel free to repost your recent open seats or "want a seat" on part ll, here.
Please know that the reason for this thread is really for "open seats".
Over time, it has become more of a "I want a seat" thread, which was never the intention of this concept. It would run much more smoothly if we let folks post their open seats and then the first person to see it would grab it, rather than to post that you want to go. It makes it more exciting that way! So, let's keep it a "I would like to take someone" or an "Open Seat" thread as intended.
Thank you for making ifish the best it can be!
Jen
We are going to try this, first. ALL open seats, post here!
I'm going to pin this and leave it.
We'll see how this works. If it doesn't, then I'll think about a new forum.

As someone who's posted a bunch of open seats, let me make some suggestions.
For people offering open seats:
Keep in mind that it takes time for people to adjust their schedule and gear up for an open seat. If you want to be sure to fill it, give folks at least a few days lead time. It isn't always easy to get the ducks lined up for an open seat. And when someone responds, give them very specific details about what they need to bring and where and when to meet you.
For people accepting open seats:
Be on time and be definite about where and when you are to meet. Early is good! Bring something to show your appreciation (fritters are good!) and offer to help with bait and gas expenses. It can cost a hundred bucks to spend a day on the water, by the time you figure in the boat payment and gas. If the offeror doesn't want to accept a contribution, they'll say so. But it's often appreciated.

I am more and more amazed by the good nature on this site. This idea is great. I know that when I started fishing, it was difficult to find others that wanted to join me with my wierd hours.
Congratulations to the people that cared enough to set this up!
I will post open springer seats as soon as this danged rain stops!

It would be great if the dogs posted a couple open seats here, but I think we should have two, if they want one, too.
We can put one there, and one here!
I'll wait to hear to see if we want one over there, though. It's not nearly as busy, so their open seats tend to work if they aren't pinned. It's just so darned busy, here!

Hello, I retired couple years ago, And live in Salem OR. I have a well-maintained 22 ft. in board jet boat. Looking for people who would like go fishing. Older and retired folk and parents could take the kids fishing. I would also be honored take homecoming troops fishing. People that don't have a boat. Smokers welcome. I have enough room for three to four people. (volunteer to pay for gas), I fish for trout, sturgeon. And fish for crab in Newport and Waldport bay. If you have your own fishing gear that would be fine, if not I have most of the fishing gear needed. I fish for trout at Detroit Green Peter and Foster Lake. I enjoy taking kids and their parents fishing. Or just a boat ride. The average stay out is about six hours. I am listed on www.ifish.net (http://www.ifish.net/) under open seats. If interested please call 503-930-9410 or e-mail frog1942@comcast.net (frog1942@comcast.net) thanks Dick.
