I bought an 18 ft alumawled super v. I bought a scotty 1106 down rigger to mount on it. I was wondering should I use the side mount plate or should I take it in and have a base bracket welded to it. and were is best spot from the transom back. I have a center console so was thinking half way back from transom and consol on both sides. Just need some advise on which bracket or mounting plate to use for this boat. I have seen both just worried about having her welded on for the down rigger plate. Please help.
Thanks Mookywater

My buddy has a Super V LT and had the dealer install the factory mount. It is slick. It is removable with some allen screws to allow easier access to the rod storage when not using the mount. Call a dealer and see if they can hook you up...

Scoty has many options... When I was rigging boats most people opt for the base that mounts with four screws. Although, I was a NR rigger so they had the bases already in place so we would just drill and tap 1/4-20 holes and mount them. I wish I could be more help but I spent all my time rigging NR'S.

If you have gunnel rails, Three Rivers Marine in Woodenville, Wa has pretty slick set up. Google them and then click on the customization link.
