If you've ever thought of moderating (http://www.ifish.net/board/showthread.php?t=262855), we are thinking of changing our program on moderating and sharing 'the love' a bit more.
Please know that the most important thing you can do is to read the AUP (http://www.ifish.net/ubbagree1.html) and to self moderate. Please show respect for what we've built, here. We need you to follow our rules. It has always been my goal to make ifish for everyone. In order to do that, in order to make ifish available to schools and adults alike, we need to keep boat talk to boats, and keep things a bit toned down, here on the public boards.

We currently have a solid core group of global moderators (http://www.ifish.net/board/showgroups.php) who are doing all of the general forums and it's overwhelming us. Plus, our main mods are finding that with the economy, jobs are more demanding. That, and the demands of personal family life (which is top priority, here!) has taken much of the free time once available to them.
We have tried something that works really well. On the classified forums, we have a small group (http://www.ifish.net/board/showgroups.php) of folks only dedicated only to the classifieds. They are just doing a mahvelous job, dahling... and I adore each one of them! It is working great!
So great, that I'd like to try small groups of mods like that, for every forum!
Those small groups will be helped by our core group of global moderators. They will be overseeing those smaller groups. That will take the extreme pressure of the global mods, and spread it out a bit. Think it will be good? I do! I'd like to try it, anyhow!
We are growing by leaps and bounds, and it just can't be managed by our small group, anymore. For years, now, we've run ifish with a small group of mods, but it's time to branch out. In order to keep ifish going, we need more participation from our members. This is a community and it takes one to run one!

Anyhow, I've been sick and keeping ifish running has really been a strain, lately. Help us out! I am in process of simply collecting names at this point, and haven't gotten back to everyone interested, but I hope to form groups and get this going, asap, to take the strain off of our current mods.
Mods are expected to follow all AUP rules and to uphold them. All mod actions are logged to make sure there is no abuse of power. Among other things, they are encouraged to help new users, to be a good example, to stimulate conversation, and move topics to appropriate areas on the board.
