I would think that rather than warning us not5 to eat them till it cleared up, they'd simply close it down till it cleared up. First is the health thing and second would be the fish caught and wasted. We are not suppoed to waste game fish are we?

Thanks for the heads up.

Here is a link that tracks the algae blooms: http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/hab/

Aw MAN! I was going to fish there tomorrow! Guess I'll head back to East/Paulina for one more go.

Thanks for posting, PCS...good thing I decided to check the board for a fishing report (and found this).

Just got back from 6 days there. The camp host told us all about it, after I and my dog had swam and we (the humans) had eaten some kokanee. I think it's malarkey. The lake looks fine, our group ate about a dozen fish, and all are well. It was quite cold and windy over there never got above 75. Caught some of the biggest koke's I've ever caught, all 16-18", a couple starting to turn and most had eggs or milt sacks. All cut well and tasted great. The lake level dropped over a foot while we were there BTW, Gull point is a ghost town.
White hoochie, fire corn, 18" leader behind a small dodger, 1.5-2oz sinker trolled at roughly 19 pulls was the hottest for us. Best bite early AM.

What is the launch situation like? My dad is coming in town this weekend, specifically because of my Wickiup stories. I don't need a dock, just a ramp and deep enough water to launch and retrieve without getting stuck. Any first hand reports would be helpful. Only have launched at Gull Point and an unimproved ramp on the south side. Never been to the launch at the dam.

Both ramps. gull point and thje big one were fine. I launched an 18' sled no problems.
