Does anyone have one? Sounds like a great set up to be able to connect the downrigger to your fishfinder and also knowing the exact temp of the water your lure is in and not just surface temp.

Did some searching and can't find much in the way of reviews? What do you guys think of them?

I just heard of them yesterday and wanted some input before eventually investing in one.

Dad has a mag 20 and cannonlink which seems to work pretty well. He does not have the temp and speed sensor on the ball, and I have not found much about that other than a couple sites selling them. Personally I think that I will end up putting a Furuno on my boat and Digi-trolls for riggers, mostly because I am not that impressed with my Hummingbird FF.

Thanks for the info!

I'm surprised that no one else has one or used one.

I run it for my Mag 20s, it works great. I run a Depth Raider off my down rigger cable for temp and speed. Have been using both for a long time.

The Depth raider looks interesting but I have not seen one in person so I am a little curious how the whole thing works. Do you replace your DR cable with a coated one? Does it have it's own separate cable? How does the auto-stop and the Positive Ion adjustments on the Mag 20 work with the Depth raider?

Doc when you get the Depth Raider it comes with a replacement cable of 200' or 400 ' , which ever you order. I have never had a problem with my Mag 20 or the depth raider. There is another unit called the Fish Hawk that works off
a transducer of it's own. But runs another $ 400 to $ 500.00 . Then it becomes a matter of cash. I have a number of friends that are Capts on the Lake Ontario and it is about a 50/50 on the use of units.

Thanks for the information. I would imagine the coated cable would kill the potential benefit of the positive ion control. Might be interesting to run same terminal tackle on both sides of the boat and see how much benefit the Ion control gives:shrug:.
