Up at 3;30am , made the long 9 mile drive to the boat ramp in hopes the King was still where Jmat, LD and I hooked them up a couple of days ago. On the water at 6;30 and headed over to the point we worked. Set up both Down Riggers with Blue Spin Doctors and Green A-Tom-Mix flies 10' off the ball. Started fishing at 100' and all I kept catching where 13 & 15" Trout. I was not there for Rain Bows. Hooked up and released 11 bows had to keep one bleeder. So down I went to 150' , and bingo it was play time with a 5lb King. He peeled off 125 yards of line and what a time, then the other rod went off , what a time to be alone in a boat. It was another heavy fish the way the rod was bent over. I had a hell of a time getting the 1st one in as I heard the other rod letting out line. Finally got him next to the boat and using 8'6" rods and trying to net at the same time was quiet the trick with a fish that wanted no part of the boat. Finally in the net a 5lb 10oz King. I reached for the other rod and felt the pull of another big fish , got him next to the boat and he was gone. I had 7 AE right at the boat with all of the fish in the 5lb range. I never left the spot the big boys and girls came in on , worked it till I was run off by lake lice . So by 9;30am had 3 kings in the boat and 1 rainbow.Maybe I should have gone to Dry Creek where the fishing is better . It was a hell of a day at sea Captain.

Nice job Stan, maybe I can make it down Monday to go put some kings in the boat. Those fish look nice and healthy. I just smoked a load of kings last night, need to replenish:D

Mike is no secret, KIngs are on the move or they will die , They have to eat and keep swimming, Here today and gone in the morning . If you promise not to tell anyone I will tell you the secret. It's temperature 42 to 48 degrees , get in it and stay in it. Now don't tell anyone ok

Interesting tidbit, I didn't know that......Thanks Stan. Just funnin' with ya a little, I'm sure if it was a "honey hole" the pics would have been more discreet.

To me honey holes are like woman. 1st you have to know what they like, then you need to know what makes them mad enough to hit your offering, speed & depth come into play on everything.
Then next week or next year she go's and changes the game plan on you. That could be the reason I carry 5 tackle boxes on my boat at all times.

Never know what diamond she will want this trip :flowered:

:applause: Now that's funny!!

BTW, great job on catching some great kings. Might have to PM you one of these days on your multiple rod set up. I wish I lived closer to you so we could hook up (no pun intended) and go over this stuff (as OR is allowing a 2nd rod stamp next season).

I am up in Oregon all fall and spring , I fish up there till the mosquitoes get the size of black birds. Then come back across the border. Then come early Sept I get a new green card and come across the border again. I am not like the rest of the Californians that came north over the border illegally :D
