Go to food network .com Look up Emmerils texas style smoke brisket. I used this rib on a brisket and a tri tip and it was great.
Hope you like it.:)

I put a healthy amount of Montreal steak seasoning all over both sides and cook it for about 2 hours on moderate smoke then cover it in BBQ sauce and smoke on a heavier smoke for another hour. Tri tip Roast are easy to cook and come out really good....makes me hungry to think about it..:applause:
Rub it with your favorite rub, then grill it on med-high heat till medium rare. Slice it thin across the grain.

Plus the tri tip comes out as about the most tender cut, and oh so juicy, I am drooling too!!!

follow KO's advice. A tri tip is a sirloin that does not contain a lot of fat, where a brisket is very fatty and tough as nail if not cooked low and slow. Sear both sides then slide to opo side of fire(Briquets). Take out when internal temp is 130. Let rest at least 10 min. before slicing accross grain. Be careful using your low and slow rubs as they will burn badly during the searing. Injecting is also an option :excited:

Throw on your favorite rub then set the traeger for medium. Cook until medium rare. Good stuff.

Recently I tried the Jack Daniels old No. 7 recipe/sauce. It has since become my favorite BBC sauce. I bet it would be perfect on a tri-tip, although I haven't smoked tri tip, only bbc'd it. Smoke it and then baste it with the No. 7 and smoke some more. I bet it turns out awesome.
You've got many of us inspired. I'm going to smoke some tri-tip myself this weekend!

take your tenderizing tool and stab it all over top and bottom then use sweet baby ray's BBQ sauce and let marinate for 6to8 hours start on smoke then run it up to 225 for about 5mins then back to smoke and depending on thickness
3hours then flip and another 3hours
should turn out very tender remember when smoking or the slower you can cook what ever it is it will always be more tender
at least I have found this to be true :meme:

I like the Spade L Ranch beef rub. You can get it at most grocery stores. I just rub it into both sides, let it sit for a while, then cook it in my gas smoker at around 250 degrees or so until its done. I'll generally use Hickory or Mesquite or something for smoke, I like it pretty smoky. Doesnt take all that long to get to medium rare, take it out then and it will cook a little more while it sits.
