Riverteeth - Excellent question because I want to start doing the same thing!

One other question for those of you who already do this --- I would like to run two hook rigs for my wedding rings. What knot / technique do you use to tie those? I've tried the couple knots I know and usually end up with the trail hook about 4-6 inches behind the first hook :passout:

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for all the info already offered as well.

Egg loop, trick is on the forward hook tied second; only push the leader through about 1" after the first set of wraps and make the second set of wraps in the same direction with she same line... hope that helps...They are also avalible pretied in packs of 10.... TL

Most of my blades and clevices (folded) come from Stamina.

Wedding band components I get from Fire Mountain Gems as they seem to have the best selection for the best prices. I do go spendy with the Swarovski crystals but have found they just out last and out perform all others.

Go to firemountaingems.com and enter these item numbers:

H201404MB
H201388MB
H201396MB
H203135MB
H203133MB
H203131MB
H203137MB
H208277MB

Beads are usually just purchased from local tackle shops as the bead stores don't seem to carry the sizes and or colors I want.

I build my spinners 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, WB, 6, 5, 4, 3, blade.

There are lots of different ways to do it. The sky and your own imagination is the limit. :)

Thanks for all the websites. I have some beads and blades on the way. Probably for next year at this point but maybe I'll get some together before the season is up.

As I work on tying my own double snelled hook rigs I am wondering where people buy the pretied ones? Saw some on the websites provided but they look like the second hook is set way back for a worm harness type application?

How many of you gents tie your own completely from scratch as opposed to buying pretied?

Picked up 5 from Merwin yesterday hoping for one more better day this week before I need to work and pay bills again.

I tie my own, but can't do it in the field. Eyes aren't good enough to see, so I use a magnifing glass with a light. Hook them to a piece of rubburtex pipe insulation and build them later. The first dozen weren't that great, but you will get the hang of it. Don't even embed the hook under my finger nail anymore.
