One night a man had a dream. He dreamed He was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from His life. For each scene He noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonging to Him and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of His life flashed before Him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of His life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of His life.

This really bothered Him and He questioned the LORD about it. LORD you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.

The LORD replied, my precious, precious child, I Love you and I would never leave you! During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

He only seen one set of footprints at the lowest and saddest times of his life but there were actully two set of footprints .

that was my grandmother's favorite. I remember at her funeral after I spoke the eulogy I had written for her on my way back from the air force I recited that stand over her casket. I'm not a Christian doubt if I ever will be but I respect all religions and I study all. I guess I am a seeker of knowledge and of people, their motives and their desires, but through all my tribulations I've had in this life I know that there is something out there... like bigfoot lol kidding but anyhow thank you, one thing I have learned is never to have too much pride it is a major downfall for anyone.

that I do believe in a sense. I have been through a lot and at times it feels like it has made me stronger but sometimes it makes you feel weak. It brings about the whole meaning of life at times I do believe, some people become too scared to ride things out and sadly end their life and its sad when that happens. to me it builds personality lol But I do enjoy the openness of this community, Its hard to find people accepting of others around here. People are very mentally isolated persay. but thank you all I'm sure in time I will find my path again just left the path to explore the wilderness!

I will pray for you too. That God will ease your troubles and that He will give you direction. I agree with the Rutt, stay in the Word. God bless you.

You would not beleive the 'stuff'[I am being nice] I have been thru over the last year, came close to saying the hell with it, I'm out of here, only thing that kept me from eating a bunch of pain killer's/sleeping pill's/several shot's of whiskey was a lttle white/black chihuahua, and what it would do to my boy's.Life is not better in the financial sense, not much chance of getting another job, 57, no one want's me.I hang on, but, man, sure get's old.I will welcome death, no fear at all, just do not want to have a rough past life review:)Hanging on.

I can have an idea of how you feel Feisty, I will not say I can understand because I cant. Everyone holds things differently than the next. I am sure, everything works out for those who are willing to hold on during the rough times. Its in times like this people's true motives come out, ie aiding others in need family members helping each other our government helping those who want to work who want to make a good life. There are ways and reasons, In your case Feisty I would take the time to visit old friends and family members. I remember one summer back in 06 was very bad for me lost my grandmother and a daughter, i shut everything down shut everyone out and left with my camping stuff and fishing gear and I stayed gone all summer. Ate what I caught and watched the sunset and rise. Its during the roughest times in our life our prides are challenged and we must be strong enough to pierce that darkness that surrounds us.

All to often people only talk with God when they need something.
Just waking up each day is worthy of praising God.
People often say when they pray God does not hear them and they say this just because God did not give them what they pray for.
Praying and asking God for something is not like a magic trick.
When we pray we need to pray for Gods will in the given situation.
I don't say this to give God a "way out" or to give my belief a way out.
I say this because God hears every prayer to him and sometimes that answer is no.
You said you are not a christian but I assume you do believe in God just not the part about Jesus?
If you are praying and do not believe in God, you are not wasteing your prayer but you are wasteing your expectations of some sort of miracle from an entity you do not believe in.
People that look for miracles and know God will see the miracles every where they look. For instance, trees, fish, migration, weather patterns and many many more things we take for granted.
I often wonder how people can gain knowledge of science and industry yet refuse to belive in God. With all the accomplishmenst man has made in science etc. we still can not and never will be able to make a computer or machine to do some of the most minor tasks a man can do almost seemingly without much effort.
Machines might be able to be programed (by man) to seem as if they can think but they will never be able to reason beyong what a man has programed in.
I wish you luck in your journey and hope your eyes and heart can be open to the discovery of what has been there from before time.

As an after thought I will include this, God is not here to be a back up or last resort. He does not follow, he leads.
