Hey spent 6 hours there today. I have never seen the water so green. The algae has really gone crazy since i was there last about 3 weeks ago. The water felt somewhere in the 70s (at least at the surface). I really focused on crappie the first two hours, working the woody structure hard and could only eek out 11 of them. Caught a few blue gill, perch, and small bass in between. Decided to target blue gill specifically since the crappie was so slow. Took me about an hour of probing my usually hot spots before i found the fish. There was a couple of huge schools directly across the lake from the ramp right up against the heavy reeds. It was pretty much a fish on as soon as my little black jig hit the water. Caught 200 blue gills in the last 3.5 hours i was there. If any one's little kids want to catch fish, i would recommend taking them there with some worms and a bobber. there are several little "channels" through the reeds on the far side of the lake that you could fish from the shore. if you have a little boat, you can let your kids catch hundreds, especially fun in the evening when it cools down a little bit.
