I don't pretend to know much about bass fishing. Just started doing it in my youngest grandson's parent pond two years ago. It is less than 1/3 of an acre and shallow, full of weeds. Use mostly rubbery/plastic worms and frogs.
Had to quit in late May when the willows started dropping fluff into the pond, fouling our lines badly. Casting was impossible when fluff stuck like glue to the lines.
The pond is in the Auburn, California area - kind of Sierra Foothills, overflow from irrigation ditch... we only catch and release everything. Nothing very big has been caught but sure is fun to see the youngsters get theirs:thisbig:
The small boy is 2 and loves to sit and observe us fish. His older brother still is afraid to unhook his bass as is his cousin (my granddaughter from another child of mine) shown in this picture who is 11.
