Smallmouth still spawning?

I caught smallmouth on Friday and Sunday that had full egg sacks in them. How can that be?

I caught a smallie last August that had lots of eggs in her, and 1 heck of a big crawdaddy in her too! She wanted a little Zoom Lizard for dessert evidently.

Bottom line is that smallmouth MOSTLY spawn in spring, but some of them spawn much later, and some of them spawn multiple times throughout the year.

Bottom line is that this time of year you will have fish in all 3 phases....but the majority will be post spawn in the NW.

Didn't see any spawning on the Umpqua on Fri, but did see alot of big Greenears spawning-talk about an aggressive fish-caught one on a 3" grub and another on a 3"senko!
