The weather was nice with a few rain breaks and some overcast to keep the temps within reason. We started up neer Farewell bend about 10pm Thursday and just couldnt beg a bite that evening. Played a little the next morning and caught a few before having truck problems. Limped down to Richland for repairs and ended up salvaging the trip on the Powder river arm. Crappie were bitting real good once you found them. We caught several cats but never did figure out the pattern. Looking at Fishing Eddies post, maybe we just didnt go shallow enough. We tried in as shallow as 8 feet without much luck. We picked a few up in 15' on crappie guts and caught the rest on crappie jigs working the banks for bass and crappie.
It was our first time up at Farewell bend. Others looked to be doing well, but we were fighting the learning curve a bit in that area. Bean fishing Powder river arm for generations so we were in the fish right away there.
Everybody looked to be having fun and most were catching fish.
