With all this warm weather I was thinking about heading up to Crane tomorrow afternoon and fish till evening. Has anyone had any luck up there lately? If so, any tips or locations for the bass? I am fairly new to bass fishing and it seems like generally it is more of an evening bite, any input on this?
Thanks in advance.

We ended up going up to Crane last night and the bass were not biting much. The lake was so choppy couldn't even get the boat out. We caught quite a few small ones in a small pond off the main water but nothing out of the main water. We tried the southeast shore back in the timber to get out of the wind.
Anybody have any luck out there lately?

Ok I go up there every year almost and you really need to know what your doing to get the 3 lb plus fish. You can focus on timber if you want but my best luck comes from big rocky points and humps you find in the bays and the main water. I like to throw weightless or drop shot and work it so slow you almost fall asleep doing it. If the water isn't choppy then try the weightless because that lake only gets around 11 feet deep at the most. But if that wind kicks up then do the drop shot or carolina rig. In the morning try topwater over rocky humps. I have had some huge blow ups on topwater in that lake from fish over 6 lbs. Last time my dad and I went up their we camped and fished for two days. We caught 4 fish in total. Two of them were around four pounds. You really got to work for your fish in that lake.

Thanks for the reply. What side of the lake have you had the best luck with? I hear the east side is the most popular but I am not sure. We tried Yamasenko's in green and watermelon as well as bright green worms with tails and spinners. Next time we will try something else when we have more time.
