Why yes. Glad you asked.:D A friend up from Texas and I went out on Friday and Sunday. We fished both days until around 1PM, which is when we got blown off the water. We got 11 on Friday and 12 on Sunday. I found a couple of new producing spots late Sunday so I'm looking forward to getting there early next time and hitting them first. Caught a few nice fish too.

Nice fish what were you guys throwing? Were any fish still spawning?Mostly lipless cranks. Also some curley tail grubs. A couple of fish were caught right on the bank in traditional spawning areas. They had eggs so I assume they were spawning.

How big did the friends fish turn out to be? They look pretty big, but it could just be the angle. 12 fish days are always nice! :D
New Spots :-O

New Spots :-OThe one on the right was 19". I'm guessing around 3 - 3.5 lbs. The one on the left was probably around 2.75 lbs.

Wow that that some good fishin' time. Thanks for the report. I have a brother that lives in the Portland area and I want to get him into some fish.
Could you tell me how long it would take to get there from Troutdale? He sure could use a fishing break. Thanks!

He should consider himself lucky too. It's at least a 45 minute drive for me to get TO Troutdale, let alone to Cascade locks. He's pretty dang close.

where does a guy launch around c. locks?

There's a free launch in CL. Just drive down the main drag after you get off the freeway and turn left after you pass the icecream. It's a little town so not hard to find.
I went back yesterday and launched around 10 am. We fished until 2pm. 1 dink is all we had to show for it. The water was up quite a bit is the only thing I can think of as to why it was slow. The river level was raised in an effort to unstick a barge full of gasoline that was grounded at Hood River. At least that's my excuse.
