Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you all. Billy ( aka Texas Rig ) put me on the cats as promised and as many crappie as you wanted to clean.
First the cats. We started first thing in the morning out in the flats, find where the carp are making a ruckess in the brush, throw your anchor and fish on the bottom. We would use crappie guts on a #2 hook with a egg sinker then we would thread the egg sacks on first then use the stomach as the finishing touch this too helps keep the bait on. We fished in about 3 feet of water and in two hours had 10 cats a total weight of 35 pounds. I even caught a 6.5 pounder on 4# test ultra light:meme:what a ball.
Gary I know Billy thinks the same about you:applause:. He knows how to use that fork your dad gave him, he knocks out those crappie as fast as anyone. I will say I have not watched you and I'm sure your in another league of your own.
Oh now the crappie, We fished jigs, the white curley tails seem to work best for us with crappie nibbles and once you found them I wouldn't even waste the time with the nibbles it was fast paced for sure. The weight of the jigs not sure it was all Billys gear. hope this has helped out.

A 6.5 on 4lb,nice work! It was a good week on the cats, we did well on them out on the Snake. I even had a flyfisherman catching them on flies. I posted the story about it on the flyfishing board. That's great you had a good time, maybe we can meet up next time you're up.
