Floated the John Day from Clarno to Cottonwood Mon. 6/22 thru Sat. 6/27 6 days. Fishing was great for 8-10 inchers probably averaged around 50 a day and caught a few bigger. Biggest fish of the trip was around 3 pounds. Flow started about 1550 cfs and ended about 1050cfs. caught most of our fish on gitzits, any color. Seen 1 Rattler,lots of Sheep and a few Antelope. Rented our raft from Service Creek nice raft and good people. DNR river guide is a must have and real easy to follow.
