Just got home yesterday from running Service Creek to Clarno.

Gorgeous weather and breathtaking scenery. Looking forward to running it again next year as well.

We caught a lot of fish. I was able to avg. 100+ fish a day. The largest of the trip would've gone about 3 lbs, but didn't get time to snap a pic of it.

Nice picture's, I love the John Day. How many days did it take to float it?

I just got back on Saturday from running the same drift. How was the water level? Did you have to drag the boats at all?

We didn't have to drag the boats at all. We got off the water Saturday afternoon. The water was actually about 3 ft higher this year, than it was last year the same time.

It took 4 days to float it this year, but we did it in 3 days last year.

I'm wanting to do the same trip this summer with my son but he doesn't have enough time off. Guess I'll just do Burnt Ranch to Clarno.

If you put in at Twickingham and pulled long days on the water, you could probably do it in 2.

The fishing was off for us until Friday...it finally picked up. We did fairly well. I didn't fish much as I was taking 9 boy scouts down the river.

My wife is pushing hard for me to take her down from Twickenham to Clarno this week...but I am concerned about the water levels. We run a raft and a drift boat, I notice that it is running about 950 right now. I haven't ever run it this low. Do you know what the CFS was when you ran it last year.

Great pics btw. I love that campsite, we have stayed there a few times. Based on the rafts in the pics...I am pretty sure we drifted past you as you were loading up that last morning.

We had 8 scouts heading down the river as well. I have a messed up shoulder, so i couldn't handle the oars this trip. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing your group as well.

Very nice. Looks like a lot of fun. Purty country... no doubt about it!
