Anyone ever go after Kokanee at Elk Lake( off Cascade lakes highway )? I know the limit is 25, so I would imagine their small, I just haven't heard of many people fishing for them. Just wondering since it's pretty close to home.

Haven't fished it yet this year and you are right the Kokes are small. Lucky to reach 6 inches. I usually catch them when fishing for the Brookies down on the south end near the lava flow.

Seconded; I was there three weeks ago and caught two sardine-sized kokes while fishing for Brookies.

Which made me think Elk would be an ideal spot to plant tiger trout...until I remembered that Brook trout are stocked in Elk as fingerlings; so much for that bright idea.

Pretty much what I figured, but it sure is a pretty lake. I guess I would be better off driving a couple miles more, and go after Bows at Big Lava. Why don't they put Kokanee in Cultus? I'm sure the Mack's would like it.
