St Johns/ Cathedral Park launch. Fished from 6 AM to 8:30 this morning (Friday 6/26) water temp 68, clarity 1.5'- 2' (pretty clear), slack tide, super calm, no wind, no current to speak of, no boats, (well, 2 pasing by and a tug.) I fished cranks, craw colors, white, & chartreuse-ish in 2-16' water. Caught 5. Bigger fish deeper at 12-14'.

2 smaller than my bronze DT22, one a hair bigger, one about 1.5lb and one nice one at @ 2.5lbs. The big fish was real dark. All fish released. No pics, phone/ camera died.

Gotta love the pre work fishing, especially when it is nice n quiet....

Have a great weekend!:)

you know, I have never caught one, but am wanting to learn....I like the deep diving plugs cuz they seem to get hit as they dig along the bottom, causing a stir. I fish 16' cranks in 12 feet of water and so on b//c it allows me to slow down yet still dig it up, know what i mean? those dt 22's also float up quick, and i like to smack into structure and then let it float up a little...seems to trigger 'em when it is slow.

got any tips for Walleye? i heard there was a bass/panfish club in Clackamas area? Do you know anything about them? i would love to get together with some like minded individuals to swap ideas etc...

Me, I don't know a thing about walleye.
Pop me a PM w/ your email address and I'll forward you some good walleye info that I've put together over the years. I'll warn you walleye fishing has a steep learning curve. It can be quite frustrating until you get it all dialed in.

Both the Oregon Bass & Pan Club and the Lower Columbia Walleye Club are excellent knowledge bases for walleye and great guys and gals.

BNW,

You can catch Walleye from time time in that area of the Willamette. Try a Fire Tiger Hot Lips on a flat next to deeper water. Great Smallie lure too!
