Hey Everyone,
as my first contribution i thought id do a little fishing report on the Nehalem River. about a week a ago me and my dad went over there to do a little cutthroat fishing. we went down highway 26 to the road that leads to Nehalem falls campground. stopped off at the second bridge and fished underneath it to the bend downriver. the fishing is so hot right now i could have beat the water with a stick and still caught em. we spent about 3 hours at that small stretch of river and caught 30-35 fish between the two of us.
we also fished a few holes down river farther but none even compared to the first stretch.
all in all we caught 40-45 combined. as for flies i used red or black wolly buggers and spruce fly works well too. Royal trude, coachmen, and wulff work well for dries.
somewhat easy to fish, although access is a problem. i recommend bringing waders if you don't want to get wet
