Does anybody have any recomendations on fishing Mann Lake? I haven't been in years and I was wondering about best times, fishing techniques, etc. Thanks in advance.

I heard they were going to poison the lake this year to get rid of the gold fish.

Don't waste you time until the goldfish are gone. Last first hand report I got was that it was a big pool of mud with schools of huge goldfish raking the bottom. I hope the catch the boneheads that were using them as bait and hand them the bill for getting rid of them.

Very sorry to hear about this. I wish penalties were more severe for idiots who dump in trash fish.

I heard they were working on a plan to get rid of them. I just wasn't sure what it was. You would think people would have learned by now to quit dumping exotics or using them for bait. Its so frustrating that such an unusual fishery for Oregon has to be scrapped and started from scratch because someone didn't have any common sense. Hopefully it will see better days.

Thanks for the update guys.

Yep, this is true. It hasn't been fished by any "local" that I know of for 2-3+ years now. Apparently someone is still writing about it, as I seem to get a rash of calls every few months asking as to the fishery.

In other local news, :) , the fishery biologist told me that it's taking about 9 hrs per fish at Chickahominy. While we did have over 2" of rain the first couple weeks of the month, the water level didn't come up.

I fished Krumbo last week. Slow fishing but water was in great condition. Learned today of a very heavy algae bloom taking place this week. :(
