Hey everyone. Has anybody fished the upper owhyee river recently? Particularly at three forks? We try to fish it every year about this time but it is typically flowing between 250 and 350 cfs. i have been watching the usgs web site and the flows have been bouncing between 600 and 1200. It looked like it was dropping but it just shot back up to 782. Not really sure what the river will look like at this flow and if it is muddy at all. I know they were having a lot of thunderstorms there last week, but the forcast doesn't show any for the next 10 days. Are they perhaps releasing water out the reservoirs down in Nevada (can't remember the names of them)? Any recent reports would be much appreciated. If the owhyee is a bust, there really isn't much else out there to fish and would like to save myself double tracking back several hours to other fishing destinations (ie. oxbow, hells canyon, or brownlee). also, i know from experience how bad the roads can get with very little water on them, so any road reports would also be much appreciated. Heading there fri. afternoon and fishing till dark on sun, unless i hear bad things. I'll post our results when i get home. again, thanks for any info.

oops. Anyway, I have fished the upper owhyee for the last 20 years, almost every year. usually at this time the fishing is off the charts, but this year they have had so much rain it has really screwed it up. A farmer friend over by JV still hasnt made his first cutting of alfalfa! They are 4 weeks behind. We were there two weeks ago, and the fishing was ok, not as good as usual, but you could still have 50 fish days without too much trouble. Pm me if you want more info
