My family and I are making our third trip to Wallowa lake this week to camp at the state park. I was thinking that, after three years effort, it might be nice to catch a fish. Any suggestions on what to use and where to fish? We will be using the boat ramp by the marina and our boat is electric motor slow. How deep?

Just fish the area of the marina off the state park for both kokes and rainbow. Few more rainbow off mouth of river there. Along homes can find some kokes as well. Deep to shallow, just got to find fish. Good luck.

I'll second this. I've walked the rocky shore opposite the homes and threw Rooster Tails (let them sink for a bit) and caught plenty of rainbows. Most of the time it was last week in May or early June.

We will be camped at the state park the 26th to the 28th. Our boats name is Green Eyes and I think we are in space #A-23. If your there while we are drop by and I would love to show you where we catch rainbows.Just look for our blue Dodge Quad cab truck. If this dosn't help PM me and I will try to hook you up.:flowered:

I have had good luck fishing off the bank where the river flows in by Wallowa Lake Lodge or just anchoring the boat around that area. Good luck! We really enjoy that area.

there caughting big kokanee right now and in the afternoon has been doing the best. The kok's are down at 60 to 80 feet. Just use a single dodger and a apex baited with white corn or maggets. Good luck.
