My t-8 had an issue this weekend, it is a 2008 model and all of the sudden the electric start stopped working. so I jumped out the starter solenoid and it still worked... any way a guy at the ramp said he had heard of a few more with the same issue, just curious if anyone else has had this problem?

Check to make sure the bolt holding the shift linkage in place didn't back out and fall into the cowling. It's under the relays for the tilt. If the bolt fell out it won't shift when you move the lever and if its in gear it won't start. You can also look at where the shift linkage goes into the cowling and there is an external bracket holding it in place, but the bolt goes in from the inside of the cowling. I've had both a 2005 and 2008 model do this and I put a little bit of blue loctite on the bolt when reinstalling it and have never had a problem since.

Thanks, I figured out what my problem is, the neutral safety switch is out of adjustment, if I wiggle the shifter a little I can get it to start.

I would still pull the relay pack out of the way and check that bolt, I've had it come out on both of the motors I have had, like I said before. Also I have heard of other people having the same problem. Come to think about it on the 2005 I would sometimes have to wiggle the lever to start it, before the bolt worked its way out.

Thanks I will check it out, shifter was wrking fine, just nothing when I would hit the start button, I had to jump out the solenoid to get to to start then it worked fine, either way I will check it out, thanks again.
