I am heading up to Odell this coming Wednesday through Saturday. I am curious if people are doing any good up there as of late? I haven't heard from anyone in the past couple of weeks.

Well my family and I got back this evening from Odell and I believe this weekend had to be the worst weather I have ever seen up there. We got into fish every day but this morning (wind and rain going sideways) was misery. I did catch 3 Mac's though aporx. 6lbs,8lbs and 20inches. I was trolling deep (100') and finding larger fish. I hope the weather is better for you folks than this weekend.
Good luck,

Just there over the weekend Fri-Sun. My story - mainly a morning show. Started a 6-ish and good fishing until 11:00 am. Couldn't get one to bite in the late afternoon so gave up the last night.
I jigged just off the bottom in 105 ft of water and averaged 10 a morning. Some did much better, others not so good. Trollers seemed to do OK but fish seemed smaller - don't know why ??
Good Luck

Thanks for the reports! Its not much fun up there when the wind blows hard. It sure can get sloppy fast!
Were you marking many fish?

Again I hate to jump in on a thread, but does anyone know a good guide on this lake? I was hoping to plan a trip down there with some friends. None of us has fish there before but those macs are just to tempting not to go after.:thisbig: Thanks. Go ahead and PM if you happen to be a guide yourself.

There's a guide service that works out of Shelter Cove. You can contact them through the resort.

Larry,
We marked many fish from 20' to the bottom. I was able to pick some fish up around 50' but they were smaller than the deep fish. My son was running the deep downrigger (100') and was out fishing me 4 to 1. I know the jiggers were getting some nice fish off the bottom as well. I was doing better with small (3 or 4 bead) hand tied wedding ring spinners than the large store bought ones. Our color of choice was chart/glow with white corn of course.:twocents:
Hope the wind lets up for you.
