Got to the ramp about 6:30, noticed a older guy in a newer looking NR paddl'n back to the dock. He had a dead battery so we gave him a jump and off we went. We were hoping the good deed would lead to good fishing  and we weren't disappointed! We started trolling towards the Island and immediately Bob caught and released a nice rainbow that took his pink hoochie. I had a couple strikes as well pulling a green wedding ring then it kind of slowed down. We decided to make our way to Tally Creek and things picked up from there. Surface temp was 67 and we dropped down to 40' and the action was pretty steady. An occasional surface troll would yeild a trout and there was a lot of shallow action on the finder. We lost a good number of fish and Bob lost a REAL nice fish right behind the boat, but not before we got to see a good look at it's shoulders and wide tail.

Action slowed down so we move down near the dam and eventually trolled by the boom where we saw some Jiggers having some success. We picked up a couple smaller Chinooks at 50' that we released.

Koke's are pretty fat and should be real nice come August! :D We stopped down at Sunnyside to use the cleaning station.

Fun day at GP!

Prowler,

I put in at the same time (wood drifter) and saw the dead boat on paddle too. I fact i thought i was going to meet them bow to port trying to get out of their way. I learned something on that near miss. There is a reason a boat not under power should get the right of way.

Good on you for getting them charged up. Where they a son/dad in Green NR? If so, they had smiles from ear to ear when they took out. They trolled by me near the take out and hoisted a really nice big mouth.

That fish and your helpful act made their week, I'm sure.

Your photos show a nice reward.

Yes, Green NR. I remember your drifter, we were commenting on the finish and the amount of work and fumes involved:). Beautiful wooden boat. We were glad to help.

Way to go P44! It's encouraging to read a good report from GP. Took a little longer than usual for the fishing to heat this year. Nice looking kokes.

I hope that this is a sign that the fishing is picking up! Thanks for the report; it seems that there hasn't been much to report in the last month other than the recent fishing tournament.
