I am headed out to try a new spot and looking for someone with advice. Anyone hit the middle fork of the willamette upstream from Hills Creek reservoir?
Thanks

smaller fish up there with a surprise sometimes. Try and fairly hefty dry with a nymph on a dropper. Sure is pretty up there.

I've fished that area a couple times with limited success, I think I was just there at the wrong time though. I would call or stop by the caddis fly shop in eugene, they tend to have up to date knowledge on all the south valley streams.

Up there the most out of the way holes are always the best. So far this year it has been good some days and slow the next. I wouldn't go there without trying the first riffle above the lake, it fished well last week with a green caddis hatch coming off. That is my favorite place to fish. It's just that sometimes you have to work for them, but every now and then there are some very large fish that come out of there.

Thanks guys, I will have to get some green caddis. I am sure I don't have any of those in my box.
