Another great day on the lake! Started off trolling and it wasn't long before the first koke was in the boat. We got into a hot bite, but decided to give it a break so we could try out our new jigging rods. After 1 fish jigging in 45 minutes and not seeing much in the way of netting action going on, we pulled up anchor and started up the trolling motor. The bite was pretty much shut down by then, but persistence payed off and ended up with our limits after trolling through an area where the rods went down consistantly. We lost around 6 fish right in back of the boat, and released a few small ones to live another day. Marked many more kokes than previous weeks. Saw a few large schools, but most were scattered throughout the water column and had to keep adjusting for them.

Mike, The average size was in the 11-12" range. We had to drop below the smaller ones in the morning, but by afternoon it didn't seem to matter as much.
Now, for the rest of the story...
The pink and white Gibbs got one jigging. All other kokes were caught on altered Apex lures and UV sling blades. Depth was pretty much all over, wherever they were showing on the screen. Scent used was garlic dyed pink, kokanee special, and squid/shrimp/prawn. It didn't seem to matter much which scent batch was used, they all worked. Best speed was 1.7 GPS, but varied it alot to entice strikes. The middle of the lake is showing alot of fish right now.

Thanks for the report, I 'm planning on heading up Fri,hoping for better wheather and fishing than I had last weekend. For those interested in camping, no snow at any of the sites at Paulina or East lake. Reports from the resort at East said the Kokanee bite was very good.

Good job SB! I to did good jigging! Glad ya had a great time!:D You should of been there, when I went to hook up to my trailer and it wasn't there:passout: The lodge workers had moved it to mow some grass, and instead of putting it back, they move it about 20 yds and backed it over a log! After my panic attack, I finally got calmed down and explained in a very nice way to the gal at the store, tell your workers not to mess with my stuff, at least put it back where ya found it!
