We had a good day at Green Peter. I took a friend and his Daughter with me.
We started about 5:00. WE went strait over to the other side and fished to the island. When we stoped I marked fish. I could not get all the lines in the water at the same time until we made it to the island. Fish were hitting. The people with me had never fished for kokanee and I had to do it all. we were fishing at 45 feet deep. when we spoted fish on the fish finder we would get a bite. By 7:30 we had 12 fish. we fished 4 more hours and had a total on 19 when we quit. we caught a lot of small fish and let them go. I wanted to take a picture but my camera batteries were dead. I had not been to Green Peter for over a month and did poor this year so this makes me feel better.

Lol I'm not surprised. I know I got the bug bad and so has everyone I've taken. What do you suppose it is about koke fishing that is so addicting?

Good to hear the fishing is picking up. Figured it would soon but was hopeful to say the least. What size were the fish you were keeping? Any special secrets to catching them? And did you guys spend any time fishing off the boom near the dam? Thanks for the report!

Finally, I good report from GP! Thanks! Not sure why this Koke lake has taken so long to turn on, seems like all the other Koke lakes have been producing for weeks.

What size were the fish you were keeping? 12 to 14 1/2 inches. We caught a lot of small fish. We would not know some times we had a little one on. so we may have done better.
Any special secrets to catching them? Get there early. We caught fish on anything we tried. Green and White beads with a white spinner was good. Green and black beads with a green spinner. A orange white red hoochie. A Blue and white beads with a blue spinner. A Vance bug Blue and pink. We fished 40 feet to 50 feet deep. We used White corn. Scented with Mike's Kokanee Lunker Lotion and Vanilla flavored corn.
And did you guys spend any time fishing off the boom near the dam? No! We fished down by the Island area most of the time. We tried Tally Creek area and caught three fish there and lots of small ones.

Salmonslayer-
Thanks for all the tips. We generally still fish and jig. I was just checking to see if it was strictly trolling (the 120 horse just doesn't troll well). Glad you guys had so much luck! and really glad they were nice solid fish again this year!
